MACRODIFF PLAYBOOK
How to think about Ahri
Strengths, limits and power windows before you copy a build.
Strength profile
Two-pass wave pressure
Q can pressure a champion while working the wave. Plan the return line as well as the outward cast; only the return deals true damage.
Threaten with Charm
An unused E can discourage an approach. Look beyond the minion line before committing; holding the threat can be more useful than a blocked cast.
Flexible fight angles
R lets you change the approach and later withdraw. Count available casts after each action instead of assuming a future takedown will provide another.
Watch-outs
E spent, threat reduced
After missing Charm, avoid walking into a second trade without a new advantage. The opponent no longer needs to respect that same catch window.
Mobility is a budget
Spending every R cast to chase can leave no route back. Decide which enemy control tool still threatens your final landing point.
Two hits are not automatic
Q's return path changes as you move. Do not count both hits when judging a trade until the target and your return angle support them.
Power windows
Early lane
Q return spacing
Learn where Q can hit the wave without inviting an unsafe return trade. Do not confuse a max-order recommendation with the first three skill points.
E available
A conditional catch
E changes how freely the opponent can approach. Its value depends on the line, not simply on the ability being learned.
R available
More than an entry
R offers repositioning for offense or escape. Compare both uses before spending the first cast across the wave.
Core and objectives
Turn tempo into vision
Use a cleared wave to reach objective angles with your team. More damage does not make a blind flank safe.
ROLE PLAN
Lane and tempo checklist
Separate farming from fishing
Use Q with a clear wave objective. Throwing every spell at the opponent can leave neither mana nor cooldowns for the incoming wave.
Create an E lane
Thin blocking minions or take a lateral angle before E. If the angle requires stepping into jungle access, fix vision before attempting the catch.
Recall versus kill pressure
Teleport supports returning to lane and later map movement; Ignite commits more to local kill pressure. Choose around the lane plan, not a universal spell rule.
5V5 PLAN
Team-fight responsibilities
Catch with support nearby
Approach from an angle allies can use. A Charm beyond their reach may cost your escape without producing a useful team follow-up.
Reserve defensive Charm
Against a diver, holding E for the approach may protect your carry better than using it on the nearest frontliner.
Recheck after a takedown
After an R extension, reassess health, remaining control and the next landing zone. A new cast is an option, not an instruction to keep diving.
