MACRODIFF PLAYBOOK
How to think about Jinx
Strengths, limits and power windows before you copy a build.
Strength profile
Two weapon jobs
Minigun attacks build attack speed; rockets add range and splash at a mana cost. Choose the weapon for current spacing rather than leaving one selected permanently.
Follow-up trap control
E can cover a controlled enemy's exit or a diver's approach. Its placement is most useful when you can predict the crossing route.
Takedown momentum
The passive creates a speed window after qualifying participation. Use it to find safe additional attacks or reposition, not automatically to run deeper.
Watch-outs
Rockets spend mana
Unnecessary rocket farming can remove the mana needed for W or E. Switch back when the extra range or splash is not buying anything.
No dash to repair the entry
Keep a clear retreat path before attacking. E and W can deter an approach but should not be treated as guaranteed escapes from every diver.
Weapon swap is not a reset claim
Changing Q selects a weapon. Do not build a damage estimate around a promised free attack reset that has not been verified in game.
Power windows
Early lane
Weapon discipline
Practice switching for range without exhausting mana. The weapon choice changes the next trade even before expensive items arrive.
E follow-up
Control creates placement
An allied hit narrows the enemy's exit options. Use that information for traps rather than assuming E is immediate hard control.
R available
Check the first champion
R detonates on the first enemy champion and benefits from travel and missing health. Recheck the line instead of promising a kill after W.
Passive active
Convert speed safely
The speed window is conditional on a qualifying event. Once active, re-evaluate where you can keep attacking without crossing remaining crowd control.
ROLE PLAN
Lane and tempo checklist
Budget range and mana
Use rockets for a contested last hit or grouped targets, then minigun where safe. Judge the lane by remaining resources, not only damage dealt.
Follow your support's control
Place E on the likely exit after allied control. If your support misses, preserve spacing rather than placing traps as if the target were already rooted.
Respect the W blocker
W stops on the first enemy unit. Move for a clear line only if doing so preserves safety from the opposing support and jungler.
5V5 PLAN
Team-fight responsibilities
Start with a reachable target
Attack the nearest safe target while tracking the enemy diver. Trying to reach the backline before a speed window can remove all your output.
Trap the access route
Use E where a diver must pass rather than dropping it after the threat is already on top of you. Keep an ally between you and uncertain fog.
Reset your positioning
After a passive trigger, choose between pursuing, switching weapon range and retreating. More speed should create safer attacks, not erase threat awareness.
