MACRODIFF PLAYBOOK

How to think about Syndra

Strengths, limits and power windows before you copy a build.

Strength profile

Spheres remain useful

A Q sphere remains available for later manipulation. Place it with the next E line in mind rather than treating every Q as isolated damage.

Stun through a sphere

E pushes Dark Spheres; a sphere striking an enemy supplies the stun. This distinction matters when using W to reposition an object.

Upgrade-driven growth

Splinters upgrade the kit, including Q charges and the R execute. Treat each unlocked upgrade as a new option rather than assuming the full passive from level one.

Watch-outs

A minion is not a sphere

W can throw a minion and slow, but it does not turn that minion into an E stun projectile. Create or reposition a Dark Sphere for that job.

E is also your safety

Spending E aggressively removes an important approach deterrent. Keep distance until it returns, especially when the enemy has not used its dash.

Count real Q charges

Do not plan two immediate Q casts before the relevant upgrade and available charges. R damage also depends on actual nearby spheres.

Power windows

Early lane

Repeatable Q placement

Learn Q spacing and mana usage first. A sphere left on the ground can shape the next exchange even after its initial damage.

E learned

Sphere geometry

Q and E add a stun threat only when the sphere's pushed path intersects the opponent. Practice that line from both sides of the wave.

Splinter upgrades

Check the unlocked effect

Q's extra charge, W's bonus and E's wider control arrive through upgrades. Do not equate every level-up with all of them becoming active.

R and its upgrade

Sphere count before burst

R becomes a burst option when learned, but the execute is a separate upgrade. Check both sphere setup and the passive state.

ROLE PLAN

Lane and tempo checklist

Harass without losing the wave

Position Q to threaten the opponent while preserving last-hit access. Hold enough mana for the next wave rather than forcing every possible poke.

Angle before E

Check that a sphere lies on the path you want to push. A direct E knockback and a sphere stun solve different situations.

Move with protection

After clearing, move with the jungler or support into fog. Do not spend E on the wave immediately before walking through an unwarded entrance.

5V5 PLAN

Team-fight responsibilities

Prepare a sphere line

Place spheres where enemies must approach your team. Look for a usable E angle instead of walking forward solely to reach R range.

Choose peel or pick

Against a diver, E can preserve space for multiple allies. Compare that value with spending it on a distant catch before the fight starts.

R with an actual target plan

Check spheres, target defenses and the execute upgrade before R. If the target survives, retain spacing instead of assuming the rotation ended the threat.
